But that's why I loved about the ending, considering of the dark and cruel irony of it. It was kind of one of those lose-lose choice situations, only this one was the worse than the other given the circumstances.
While the gang in the car was pretty much the most logical ones, it was at the same time the very same logic that made them pessimistic about any hope of rescue unlike the other people that was left behind in the market. But even tough they were under the influence of a crazy zealot bitch that was luckily killed, they actually made it off better by staying.
They would feel guilty to even listening to a mentally unstable religious bitch, but they would live with it unlike the ones who ironically were escaping from the help that was about to arrive.
I guess that this ending were trying to tell us the darkness within our own humanity and how they come in forms and shapes. The zealot was pretty much the most obvious one, while the main character was the most clouded considering that he was actually able to do what he thought was the only right was to do.
But like I said, it was because the lack of faith of hope of any rescue, the gang in the car choose the coward's way instead of trying figure out what to do next, or atleast waited for a moment.
They were easy to judged the other people for following the zealot, but atleast they had faith of rescue and therefore they were the ones who deserved to live, while the main character has to live with the fact that everything he was trying to do, wasn't according the rules of Murphy's Law or perhaps even Catch 22.
Even so we as the audience and also the witnesses left with a conflict concerning about the aftermath of the dad who now lost everything. But what my thoughts were as the dad cried out as the parade of military tanks and trucks passed by and he sees the very same woman who wanted to go home to her family and noone wanted to follow her in the truck and we listen to the track by Dead Can Dance, I can only say that even in the darkest moment there are always a small glimpse of hope and that we should never give in to neither influence or logic, and that it was the woman who even tough never was in the rest of the movie, she actually had hope of making it and therefore she was the one who got very best of it.

Very well put. It was a great dark movie, and I think we need more of them because they make people think.

Yeah, but knowing Hollywood, that will take some time before we see another movie like this.
:iconcubedpork:
Oh yeah, they keep popping out the same movies with different actors as long as it gets them money.

Speaking of "popping" have you played the new Prince of Persia yet?

I'm getting it for x-mas, I just wanted to see if you played it. I've heard and read mixed reviews on it.

From watching the trailers, I think I'll like it.
